Where do the prices come from? +
The global wholesale spot market — the same prices that LBMA and COMEX publish to dealers worldwide. SpotBar surfaces what the world is paying right now. We don't make a market or take a spread; we just show you the number.
Can I track the value of my own gold and silver? +
Yes. Tell SpotBar what you own — by ounce, gram, tola, or kilo, with karat-grade for jewelry — and your total stack value lives in the menu bar, updating live with the market. Gold-only on the Free tier; all four metals on Pro.
Does it support 14K, 18K, and 22K gold for jewelry? +
Yes. Enter your jewelry by karat and weight to get an accurate melt value, not just the 24K spot price. Useful when you're buying, selling, or just curious what's in the drawer.
What about INR and per-tola pricing? +
Yes. Pro includes INR (and EUR, GBP, AED), with per-gram, per-tola, and per-kilo display alongside per-troy-ounce.
How fresh are the prices? +
Refreshes hourly while markets are open. Markets close Friday evening and reopen Sunday evening (US Eastern); during that window the popover shows a 'Markets closed' indicator and the last price seen.
Is my purchase mine forever? +

What are the system requirements? +
